This is something I encounter almost every day on my way to the city. The animals are sitting partly on top of each other, some are already dead, if not just somebody buys a chicken and creates some space. Just recently, there was a tv report about the high prices of eggs and chicken meat in the Philippines. In the report, chickens raised in small cages were shown. However, it was not about animal welfare, but exclusively about the costs. I am not an expert on poultry, but it should be obvious to everyone that something is wrong here.

Dies ist ein Anblick, welcher mir quasi täglich auf dem Weg in die Stadt begegnet. Die Tiere sitzen teilweise übereinander, manche sind bereits tot, wenn nicht gerade mal jemand ein Küken kauft und somit etwas Platz im Käfig schaft. Neulich lief im Fernsehen ein Bericht über die aktuell hohen Preise für Eier und Geflügelfleisch. In dem Beitrag ging es in keinster Weise um den Tierschutz, sondern ausschließlich um die gestiegenen Preise. Ich bin kein Geflügelexperte, es sollte aber für jeden ersichtlich sein, dass hier etwas grundlegend falsch läuft.
