Tropical Balcony Garden
This is a continuation to my prevoius “Spinat Share” post. Because of purchased seeds didn’t work for us we decided for “proven plants”, which means plants which are already successfully growing in our neighboors gardens.
The first plant – which not only decorates the balcony – but has so much more to give is our small lemon shrub, in filipino language “kalamansi”. The small green fruits give the water a fresh, sour taste and can be used in combination with various dishes.
The second is our Oregano which usually is my morning tea and tends to grow like pest weed and which in addition works great against cough.
The third one – at the top right – is named Moringa in the Philippines and enriches chicken and fish soup creations. The leaves have a mild taste and it is as well as very quick growing plant. At our previous location it grew within a few weeks from ground level until our second for balcony.
The curry plant – on the bottom left – is our newest member. Currently the leaves are a bit brown, but it is already produces several new sprouds which makes us very pleasant that it will be as well a success.
Bottom note: I’m currently still looking for seeds for “Perma-Culture”. If somebody has seeds for me please leave me a message.
